چکیده

این مقاله به بررسی چهرۀ مادر در رمان یک زن (1988) اثر آنی اِرنو می‌پردازد و رد پای او را در ابعاد مختلف فضایی، چه واقعی و چه خیالی، دنبال می‌کند. برای پرداختن به این موضوع، پژوهش حاضر، در این رمان کوتاه، بر زوجهای دیالکتیکی و اصطلاحات فضایی‌ای تکیه دارد که ژان وسژربه در کتاب خود با عنوان فضای رمان‌نویسی (1978) به صورت تقابل‌های دوتایی و متضاد مطرح کرده است. وسژربه معتقد است که هیچ فضایی به طور واقعی به ما داده نشده است و خود خواننده باید نظام استدلال نویسنده را آشکار و ارتباط بین شخصیت و محیط او را کشف کند. در این راستا، این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که چگونه نگاه اِرنو به زندگی مادرش—زنی که در مقطعی از زندگی‌اش به بیماری آلزایمر مبتلا شده است—بر گسترش و تحدید تدریجی زندگی فردی در جهانی تأکید دارد که از یک سو پذیرای اوست و از سوی دیگر طردش می‌کند.

Spatial evacuation and retention of the maternal figure in Une Femme by Annie Ernaux

چکیده English

This article studies the figure of the mother in Annie Ernaux’s Une Femme (1988) by tracing her presence across the different spatial dimensions, both real and imaginary, in the novella. To this purpose, the research relies on the dialectical pairs and spatial terms presented in antinomies by Jean Weisgerber in L’Espace Romanesque (1978). Weisgerber believes that no space is truly given to us, and that the reader must uncover the author’s system of demonstration and discern the link established between characters and their environment. Following his lead, this research examines how Ernaux’s perspective on her mother’s existence—who, at one stage of her life, suffers from Alzheimer’s—highlights the expansion and contraction of a person’s life in a world that, on one hand, welcomes, and on the other, excludes them.
